Owner of foreign-lettered object washed ashore still unknown

Authorities in Quang Ngai Province have issued a second notice seeking the owner of an object bearing foreign text washed ashore.

Pho Quang Border Guard Station in Tra Cau Ward, Quang Ngai Province, issued a second notice on August 9 seeking the owner of an object bearing foreign lettering that washed ashore.

In the notice, Pho Quang Border Guard Station asked relevant units to publicise the information widely so that any agency, organisation or individual owning the object could come forward and make contact. If no owner comes forward, the station will handle the object in accordance with the law.

Pho Quang Border Guard Station had previously issued a first notice to find the owner, but nearly two years have passed without any individual or organisation coming forward to claim it.

As Dantri previously reported, at about 10 pm on November 26, 2024, local residents discovered an object believed to be a maritime buoy washed ashore in Pho An Commune, the former Duc Pho Town, now Tra Cau Ward, Quang Ngai Province.

The object is cylindrical, with a yellow body and a black base, measuring about four metres in diameter and about five metres in overall height. It bears foreign lettering on its body.
