The national event will be held in Dien Bien Phu Ward, with participants from Dien Bien, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Son La, Cao Bang, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Dak Lak.
The festival aims to preserve and promote the traditional cultural heritage of the Mong ethnic community while strengthening cultural exchanges among ethnic groups.
A wide range of cultural, sporting and tourism activities will be held, including performances of the traditional Mong khen (bamboo pipe), exhibitions of Mong culture, demonstrations of traditional crafts, folk art performances and a street carnival.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to experience local culture at Long Village.
The event is expected to attract domestic and international visitors to Dien Bien and promote the province's cultural and tourism offerings.
Preparations are under way, including plans for the opening ceremony, which is expected to be broadcast live on national television.
The Mong are one of Vietnam's largest ethnic minority groups, living mainly in mountainous areas of northern Vietnam, western Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces and the Central Highlands.
They have a rich cultural heritage reflected in traditional clothing, linen weaving, metalworking, handicrafts, architecture, markets and the khen, one of the community's most distinctive traditional musical instruments.
