Road 183 in Bang Lang Commune was blocked by landslides after overnight rain, while flooding and large cracks heightened the risk of further disruption.
Another major landslide occurred on a road linking Nam Luong Junction with the former Thai An Commune administrative centre in Lung Tam Commune, where part of the road collapsed after days of heavy rain.
Authorities cordoned off hazardous areas, suspended traffic on affected sections and warned residents not to travel through flooded or landslide-prone areas while repair work is under way.
The damaged road serves as a key transport link connecting Lung Tam with neighbouring communes, supporting daily travel, trade, agricultural transport and emergency response.
The Tuyen Quang Hydro-Meteorological Station warned that continued rainfall over the next six hours could bring a further 20-50 mm of rain, with some areas receiving more than 70 mm.
The agency warned of a high risk of flash floods, landslides and ground subsidence across 29 communes, where saturated soil and continued rain could threaten lives, damage infrastructure and disrupt transport.
Local agencies have been asked to inspect landslide-prone areas, reservoirs, irrigation works and river crossings, prepare evacuation plans for at-risk communities, and ensure emergency supplies are available if settlements become isolated.
