Local authorities said they would continue to crack down on businesses that overcharge customers, fail to display prices or violate safety regulations, while increasing inspections of tourism services.
The latest enforcement action saw a parking operator fined VND 7.5 million (USD 286) for charging above the posted rate. The operator was also ordered to refund the excess amount to customers.
Authorities also investigated a social media post about a VND 250,000 bowl of eel porridge, finding the price reflected a large serving with extra eel requested by diners. However, the restaurant was ordered to improve price transparency after failing to inform customers of the higher charge.
Beach recreation operators have also come under closer scrutiny. In late May, three jet ski companies were cited after operating outside designated areas and entering swimming zones, with each facing proposed fines of VND 20-30 million (USD 764-USD 1,145).
Businesses that continue to breach regulations after being warned could face stricter penalties.
Residents and visitors are advised to report suspected violations to help improve service standards while urging social media users to share information responsibly and accurately.
