Organisers announced the event on Aug. 2, saying the marathon will take place from November 20-22, with race day scheduled for November 22.
It remains Vietnam's only road race to hold the World Athletics Label, recognising its international standards in race organisation, medical and rescue services, anti-doping procedures and course quality.
The event will feature four distances: 42.195 km, 21.0975 km, 10 km and 5 km.
The race will start and finish at the Quang Ninh Planning, Fair and Exhibition Palace. Its fully closed coastal course along Halong Bay was named among the world's 50 most scenic running routes by Runner's World UK.
Li-Ning will debut as diamond sponsor and exclusive apparel partner, while organisers unveiled an ultralight 85-gsm microfibre race shirt, the first to be used in a running event in Vietnam.
This year's race will also introduce the Green Dragon Cup, a new competition for corporate teams.
Nguyen Tri, chief executive of DHA Vietnam, the event owner and organiser, said retaining the World Athletics Label reaffirmed the race's international standards and Vietnam's growing profile on the global marathon calendar.
In a congratulatory letter, AIMS president Paco Borao said the event could boost sports tourism in Halong, comparing its potential with heritage cities such as Paris, Tokyo, Athens and Valencia.
In 2025, Kenya's Kennedy Kiprop Chelimo set a men's marathon course record of 2:13:57, helping establish the event as "The Fastest Race in the Region."
