Bien Ho, one of Gia Lai's best-known tourist attractions and a national scenic site, has undergone restoration and infrastructure upgrades in recent years. However, provincial inspections found that management and tourism services remained inconsistent.
Authorities cited inadequate oversight, uneven service quality, persistent street vending within the site and shortcomings in environmental sanitation, all of which have affected the destination's image and visitor experience.
The Bien Ho Commune People's Committee has been instructed to improve staff professionalism and customer service, regularly review service quality, and strengthen inspections of price listings, hygiene, public sanitation and security.
Local authorities were also ordered to remove street vendors from within the scenic site and relocate them to designated areas outside the protected zone, while maintaining a clean and well-kept environment.
Meanwhile, Gia Lai is integrating the Bien Ho–Chu Dang Ya National Tourism Area into the expanded Pleiku Urban Master Plan, replacing an earlier standalone tourism planning project covering about 6,300 hectares.
The integrated plan would guide future tourism investment, transport infrastructure, landscape protection and sustainable development.
