According to a report by the Dam Ha Commune People's Committee in Quang Ninh Province, a fire broke out in the early hours of August 1 at Phuc Tien fishing port in Phuc Tien hamlet, Dam Ha Commune. At about 3.37 am, the commune authorities received a report from the local police about the blaze.

Rescue forces arrived and brought the fire under control at about 4.45 pm.
Initial figures showed no casualties. However, 19 motorboats were damaged.
Initial losses were estimated at about VND 2.5 billion (USD 96,000).
The Dam Ha Commune People's Committee is coordinating with relevant authorities to investigate the cause of the fire and handle the case in line with regulations.
