HCM City cracks down on vendors near Ly Thai To Park

Ho Chi Minh City has stepped up enforcement against street vendors after they reappeared around Ly Thai To Park.

Authorities in Vuon Lai Ward said maintaining urban order and environmental hygiene around the park has been a priority since it opened. While the area was initially orderly, recent inspections and complaints from residents and local media found that street vendors had returned.

In response, the ward has deployed security personnel during peak hours, particularly in the evenings, while stepping up patrols and inspections. Vendors have been told not to operate in or around the park, with repeat offenders facing penalties.

The ward said it would continue inspecting areas prone to illegal vending, strictly enforce regulations against the occupation of roads and pavements for business activities, and strengthen public awareness campaigns on maintaining urban order.

It also pledged closer coordination with relevant agencies to improve enforcement and prevent street vendors from returning.
