Authorities in Danang are working to identify a man believed to be a foreign national after his body washed ashore in Thang An Commune.

Nguyen Thanh Phong, chairman of the Thang An Commune People's Committee, said on July 30 that officials were investigating the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding his death.
The body was discovered at about 6 am by local residents who had gone swimming near Village 6 in Thang An Commune. They alerted the authorities after finding the man washed up on the shoreline.
Initial examinations found the man was wearing black trousers and a black sleeveless T-shirt. He also had a thick beard.
Phong said forensic authorities in Danang had completed a post-mortem examination and were carrying out procedures to determine the cause of death and establish the victim's identity. His nationality has not yet been confirmed.
After the forensic examination was completed, volunteers from the SOS Quang Nam rescue team transferred the body to the mortuary of Quang Nam General Hospital for preservation while the investigation continues.
