The city's Department of Culture and Sports has asked local authorities to inspect all pickleball courts, clubs and venues, focusing on newly established or converted facilities, large venues and sites that have drawn residents' complaints.
Authorities have been instructed to inspect business registration, land use, construction compliance, fire safety, electrical safety, security, operating hours, noise, lighting, traffic management, parking and environmental sanitation.
They must promptly address or report cases involving improper land use, unauthorised construction, safety violations or other regulatory breaches.
The department said Ho Chi Minh City hosted 19 pickleball tournaments in 2025, including five with foreign participants. So far this year, the city has recorded 21 tournaments, most attracting between 100 and 200 players.
Investment in pickleball courts, along with referee and coaching training programmes, has expanded rapidly.
The department also called for closer monitoring of large tournaments and public events involving foreign participants or commercial activities that could affect traffic, public order or nearby residents.
