Lam Dong residential area submerged after heavy rain

Prolonged heavy rain flooded residential and production areas in Bao Loc, Lam Dong Province, by 1-1.5m, affecting dozens of households.

On July 28, authorities in Bao Loc 3 Ward and B'Lao Ward, Lam Dong Province, helped residents respond to flooding and deal with the aftermath of prolonged heavy rain.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Bien Duc Long, commander of the Military Command of Bao Loc 3 Ward, the unit deployed 20 officers and militia personnel to help residents move belongings and livestock to safety.

Earlier, from 9 pm on July 27, Bao Loc 3 Ward and B'Lao Ward were hit by prolonged heavy rain. By the morning of July 28, water from the upper reaches of the Dai Lao stream and the Dai Binh river had flowed into low-lying areas, flooding several residential neighbourhoods and production areas in the two wards.

Some roads in residential areas and gardens were submerged under 1 to 1.5 metres of water. Rising floodwater entered homes, damaging the property of several households.

Initial reports from the authorities showed that 70 households were affected, including 10 that were severely flooded and had to move people, property and livestock to safer places.
