Thoi Son Islet has drawn large crowds after videos by foreign content creators went viral, with visitors waiting up to two hours for sampan rides and horse-drawn carriage tours.
Since late June, the attraction has welcomed several thousand visitors a day, two to three times more than usual, according to local tourism operators.
The nearby My Tho Marina receives more than 1,500 domestic and international visitors daily during the summer travel season.
Other attractions, including Dong Tam Snake Farm, Go Cong Beach and Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village, have also reported strong visitor numbers, while Lien Hoa Pagoda and Me Mau Tien Giang Pagoda have become popular spiritual tourism destinations.
The provincial government estimates Dong Thap welcomed 5.33 million visitors in the first seven months of 2026, up 24.6 per cent from a year earlier.
International arrivals rose 2.6 per cent to about 396,000, while tourism revenue increased 10.3 per cent to VND 2.79 trillion.
