During a sudden check at the household, local authorities found that they were illegally keeping seven wild birds in captivity, including six night herons and one pond heron. A further inspection led officers to seize a net and a specialised audio device used to lure and trap birds.

In a meeting with the task force, the family admitted using the net and audio equipment to trap the birds in the wild and bring them back for captivity.

After completing legal procedures and determining that all seven birds were healthy and fit to survive, police coordinated with relevant units to release them back into the wild.
