According to the Southern Regional Hydro-Meteorological Centre, Friday will bring cloudy skies, scattered showers and more widespread thunderstorms later in the day. Temperatures will range from 24-27 degrees Celcius overnight to 29-32 degrees Celcius during the day, topping 32 degrees Celcius in some areas.

From July 25, southwesterly winds over waters from Lam Dong to Ca Mau are forecast to strengthen to Beaufort force 5-6, with gusts to force 7-8, while waters from Ca Mau to An Giang will see force 4-5 winds and scattered showers and thunderstorms

The southwesterly monsoon is forecast to strengthen from the weekend as a tropical system moves into the northeastern East Sea, bringing more widespread and heavier rain to HCM City and southern Vietnam.
The weather agency warned of thunderstorms bringing lightning, whirlwinds and strong gusts. Heavy downpours over short periods could also trigger localised flooding in low-lying areas, disrupting traffic and daily life.
