According to Nghe An Province Police, the investigation uncovered two trafficking networks operating in Chieu Luu Commune, Cam Phuc Commune and Huu Kiem Commune.

Investigators said the suspects worked with accomplices across the border to target women without stable employment. After gaining their trust, the victims were taken abroad and allegedly sold as brides for hundreds of millions of Vietnamese dong.

Among the victims was a girl who had not yet reached the age of 14, police said.

Between June 25 and July 13, officers from Nghe An Province Police, working with other law enforcement agencies, simultaneously arrested six suspects: Luong Thi Toan (born 1982), Lo Van Phong (born 1976), Xeo Thi Tien (born 1982), Chich Thi An (born 1979), Lo Van May (born 1978) and Luong Thi Nham (born 2002). All are residents of Nghe An Province.

During questioning, the suspects allegedly admitted their involvement in the offences.

Investigators believe the group lured and sold three women from Nghe An Province to buyers overseas as brides, earning hundreds of millions of Vietnamese dong in illegal profits. All three victims have since been rescued.

The Criminal Police Department of Nghe An Province Police has urged anyone who believes they may have been victimised by the trafficking networks to come forward and report the case at its headquarters on Ho Tung Mau Street in Truong Vinh Ward, Nghe An Province.
