Lam Dong Province is seeking investors for a large-scale coastal road project that is expected to become a key transport corridor, expand urban development and drive economic growth along the province's coastline.
According to Nguyen Hong Hai, vice chairman of the Lam Dong Province People's Committee, the planned route will pass through Phu Thuy Ward, Phan Thiet Ward and Tien Thanh Ward.
The project will feature six traffic lanes, pavements and a central median. It also includes land reclamation along parts of the coastline to accommodate the road and develop waterfront parks, as well as the construction of cable-stayed bridges spanning the Ca Ty River and Phu Hai River.
The total investment is estimated at nearly VND 9.5 trillion (USD 362.99 million).
According to Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 2, the project will reclaim approximately 84.8 hectares of coastal land. Once completed, the reclaimed area is planned to become a modern urban district integrated with green coastal corridors, public parks and landscaped open spaces, enhancing both the project area and the province's central waterfront.
The project is expected to be implemented under a public-private partnership (PPP) model using a build-transfer (BT) contract.
Nguyen Hong Hai instructed relevant agencies to carefully evaluate potential investors, including their financial capacity, technical capability and commitment to delivering the project.
Lam Dong's coastline already includes several completed coastal roads, including the Lien Huong-Binh Thanh section, the Song Luy Bridge-Hoa Thang section, Provincial Road DT.706B (Vo Nguyen Giap Road)-Hung Vuong Bridge, the DT.719 Ke Ga-Tan Thien section and the DT.719 section through La Gi. These transport links have helped stimulate tourism and broader economic development.
Once completed, the new coastal road is expected to improve transport connections between the province's two major tourism hubs, Mui Ne in the north and Tien Thanh in the south, while creating a new landmark for the Mui Ne National Tourism Area.
