On July 21, Nam Hoa Lu Ward Police in Ninh Binh Province said they had issued a decision to prosecute the case and charge K. Aymen, born in 2003 and a Moroccan national, for investigation on allegations of theft.

Earlier, on July 10, Nam Hoa Lu Ward Police received a report that Vi Tam Coc Hotel on Dam Khe Street had been broken into, with one laptop and cash stolen from the reception desk.
Ward police then set up task forces to urgently investigate the case and track down the suspect.
After just over two hours of checks and inquiries, police arrested K. Aymen at 11 am the same day while he was hiding near Bich Dong Pagoda in Nam Hoa Lu Ward.
During questioning, K. Aymen admitted taking advantage of unlocked accommodation premises to break in and steal property.
Police said he had also broken into another hotel in Nam Hoa Lu Ward and stolen two laptops. The total value of the stolen property and cash was more than VND 14 million (USD 540).
The investigating police agency has executed a temporary detention order against the suspect as inquiries continue in accordance with the law.
