Dak Lak cracks down on illegal tourism services at Hon Yen

Dak Lak Province is stepping up inspections of tourism services around Hon Yen and Phuoc Dong Beach following reports of unauthorised businesses and other activities affecting visitors.

The People's Committee of O Loan Commune said some individuals and businesses had been operating tourism services without permission, including informal parking services, during the summer travel peak.

Officials said the violations could undermine public order, harm visitors' interests and damage the area's tourism image.

The commune will conduct regular and surprise inspections at key tourist sites, including Hon Yen, Phuoc Dong Beach and O Loan Lagoon, to ensure compliance with tourism regulations.

Concerned agencies have also been instructed to prevent illegal parking operations, unlicensed tourism businesses, street vending, unauthorised structures on public land and beaches, and practices such as touting and overcharging visitors.

Inspections will also cover business registration, price display, food safety and operating conditions at restaurants, accommodation providers, retail outlets, parking facilities and other tourism-related businesses.

Local tourism cooperatives and service providers have been told to comply with regulations, display prices clearly, avoid overcharging or soliciting customers, and report illegal activities affecting the destination's reputation.
