Hue heritage site tightens visitor rules

Visitors to Hue's imperial heritage complex may be removed for wearing inappropriate clothing, flying drones without permission or breaching new site rules announced on Thursday.

The Hue Monuments Conservation Centre said the regulations were introduced to protect the UNESCO-listed heritage site, ensure visitor safety and promote respectful behaviour.

Visitors are required to purchase tickets, queue at entrance gates and keep their tickets with them throughout their visit for inspection if requested.

The regulations also prohibit the use of drones without prior approval from the relevant authorities. Visitors may not organise performances, filming, recreational activities or picnics within the heritage complex without permission from site managers.

Smoking is banned throughout the site, while weapons, explosives, flammable or toxic substances and live animals are not permitted inside the complex.

To protect the monuments, visitors are prohibited from touching, sitting or lying on artefacts or historic structures, writing or drawing on monuments, walking on lawns, picking flowers or damaging trees and landscaping.

The centre also urged visitors to help protect the environment and report any violations or inappropriate behaviour to security staff.

Security personnel are authorised to end visits for anyone who fails to comply with the regulations.
