Truong Cong Thai, deputy chairman of Dak Lak People's Committee, said the Ministry of Construction had included the Pleiku-Buon Ma Thuot-Gia Nghia Expressway in the national expressway network plan for investment before 2030.

The proposed 260-km expressway will link Gia Lai, Dak Lak and Lam Dong provinces at an estimated cost of more than VND 70 trillion (USD 2.67 billion). Local authorities are preparing documentation for the project's feasibility study.
Thai said the ministry had also included the Phu Yen-Dak Lak Expressway in its list of projects planned before 2030.
The more than 200-km route is estimated to cost over VND 35 trillion (USD 1.34 billion) and will be developed in two phases.
The first phase will build a 120-km section linking Bai Goc Port in Phu Yen province with Buon Ho in Dak Lak, with work expected to begin in 2027.
The second phase will extend the expressway from Buon Ho to the Dak Rue border area with Cambodia.
Thai said the two projects would improve regional connectivity, reduce travel times and transport costs, and support investment and socio-economic development across the Central Highlands.
