The decision, signed on July 3 by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vu Chien Thang, allows the federation to operate nationwide under a charter approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs and Vietnamese law.

The federation will be subject to state oversight by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and other relevant authorities within the scope of its activities.
Its establishment is widely seen as a significant step for pickleball, which has seen a surge in participation and tournaments across the country in recent years.
The federation is expected to strengthen governance of the sport, support athlete development, establish a more standardised competition system and promote broader participation nationwide.
It is also expected to expand cooperation with international organisations, paving the way for the country to take part in and potentially host more regional and international pickleball tournaments.
