Petrol prices fall, diesel rises

Retail petrol prices were cut from Thursday afternoon, with E10 RON 95 falling to VND20,000 ($0.76) a litre, while diesel prices rose, the ministries of Industry and Trade and Finance said.

The retail price of E5 RON 92 was reduced by VND 540 to VND 19,190 a litre, while E10 RON 95 fell by VND 410 to VND 20,000 a litre.

Diesel prices rose by VND 570 to VND 21,740 a litre, while mazut fell by VND 320 to VND 13,730 per kilogramme.

The ministries also continued contributions to the fuel price stabilisation fund, setting them at VND 200 per litre for biofuel and mazut.

The latest adjustment reversed the previous increase in petrol prices, with fuel prices in Vietnam remaining below those in many neighbouring countries.
