Vietnam earlier deployed military and police rescue teams to support search and rescue operations and disaster relief following the earthquakes.

The first magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck about 160 km west of Caracas, followed less than a minute later by a magnitude 7.5 quake nearby, the strongest to hit Venezuela in more than a century.

According to figures released by Venezuela's Ministry of Communications and Information on July 5, the disaster killed 3,342 people, injured 16,470 and left 17,345 homeless.

On June 29, Vietnam deployed a rescue team of military and police personnel to Venezuela to support earthquake response and recovery efforts.
