The provincial People's Committee announced the competition on July 8, with submissions open until October 30 and the winner expected to be selected by December 2026.

The contest is open to all Vietnamese citizens, whether living in Vietnam or abroad, with no age limit. Entrants under 18 must participate through a legal guardian, while submissions may be made individually or as a team.
Organisers said the logo should capture Gia Lai's distinctive identity by reflecting the province's history, culture, people and natural landscape. Designers are encouraged to create symbolic, minimalist concepts with strong visual recognition rather than combining multiple local landmarks or motifs into a single image.
The winning design is expected to follow contemporary design principles and be suitable for long-term use across digital platforms, official communications, tourism promotion, investment campaigns and the province's broader branding strategy.
Each entrant may submit up to three designs. Entries can be filed online, by post or in person. Public consultation and judging are scheduled to take place between November 5 and December 5 before the final selection is approved by provincial authorities.
The competition offers one first prize worth VND 200 million (approximately USD 7,700) and five runner-up prizes of VND 20 million (approximately USD 770) each. The winning logo will become the property of the Gia Lai People's Committee for use as the province's official visual identity in communications, tourism promotion, investment outreach and external relations.
