The suspects are Duong Van Son, 31, from Ninh Binh Province; Huynh Si Phan, 35, from An Giang Province; Nguyen Van Nghi, 64, from An Giang Province; Nguyen Van Nghi, 43, from Gia Lai Province; and Dang Van Tam, 46, from Ca Mau Province.

According to investigators, the case came to light in November 2025 after police in Cai Be Commune discovered two Chinese nationals suspected of having entered Vietnam illegally.

The subsequent investigation uncovered an organised network that allegedly arranged illegal cross-border movements using sophisticated methods while operating covertly.

Police identified Duong Van Son as the alleged ringleader, responsible for coordinating and directing the transportation of people across the border into Cambodia. The remaining suspects are accused of assisting in carrying out the operation.

The Investigation Security Agency concluded that the group organised the illegal departure of 12 Chinese nationals from Vietnam to Cambodia and earned illicit profits of VND 34.4 million (approximately USD 1,320).
