The eight projects include the Nha Rong-Khanh Hoi Cultural Park and Bach Dang Riverside Public Green Space; the Ho Tram-Long Thanh Airport Urban Expressway; the Can Gio-Vung Tau Sea Bridge; the Cai Mep Ha General and Container Port; the Ho Chi Minh City-Moc Bai Expressway; the Binh Tien Bridge and Road; the Ben Luc-Long Thanh Expressway interchange with Rung Sac Road; and the completion of the Ben Luc-Long Thanh Expressway interchange with National Highway 50.
Together, the projects represent total investment of USD 9.6 billion, funded through a combination of public investment, public private partnerships (PPP) and private capital.
The developments form a strategic north west to south east transport corridor linking the Moc Bai International Border Gate on the Cambodian border with central Ho Chi Minh City before extending to the coastal areas of Vung Tau and Ho Tram.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hoang Nguyen Dinh, vice chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said the city had demonstrated resilience and innovation over the past five decades.

During the first six months of the year, the city's economy expanded by 8.55 per cent while state budget revenue exceeded VND 500 trillion (approximately USD 19.2 billion), reinforcing its position as Vietnam's economic powerhouse.
"Today, the city is fulfilling its role as the country's economic engine by simultaneously launching eight strategic projects that will deliver a breakthrough in infrastructure development. These projects will remove urban transport bottlenecks, open up new opportunities for marine economic development and strengthen the north western transport corridor connecting Vietnam with ASEAN countries," Dinh said.
