Authorities in Lam Dong Province opened Provincial Road 722 to traffic on June 30. The route runs through vast forest areas, linking the Dalat region with the urban area of Buon Ma Thuot in Dak Lak Province.
According to Lam Dong Province Construction Investment Project Management Board 1, after nearly two years of construction, the authorities have completed the roadbed, asphalt surfacing and three reinforced concrete bridges along Provincial Road 722. Contractors are now finishing supporting works, including strengthening road shoulders and cut-and-fill slopes at several points, and installing signs, guardrails, marker posts and road markings.

At the same time, relevant units are accelerating the construction of drainage ditches and retaining barriers, while reviewing landslide-prone locations to ensure safety.
Provincial Road 722 construction project has a total investment of about VND 600 billion (USD 23.3 million), and is being developed by Lam Dong Province Construction Investment Project Management Board 1.
Once fully completed, it will connect with existing transport routes, creating a continuous corridor from Lang Biang-Dalat Ward to Dam Rong 4 Commune and onward to Buon Ma Thuot in Dak Lak Province.

Previously, travel from Lam Dong to Dak Lak was mainly via National Highway 27, a route of about 180 kilometres. The winding mountain road typically took around five hours.
With Provincial Road 722 now open to traffic, travel time between Lam Dong and Dak Lak has been cut by about one hour compared with National Highway 27, facilitating the movement of goods, supporting socio-economic development and expanding regional connectivity.
