The recognition was announced under a decision by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Located in Tan Tru Commune, Binh An drum-making village traces its origins to the 19th century and has been passed down through five generations.

Its handcrafted drums are sold across Vietnam and exported to more than 10 countries and territories.
The drums are made entirely by hand through more than 20 production stages. Drum bodies are crafted from seasoned starwood, while the drumheads are made from the back and shoulder hide of female buffaloes aged over 20 years.
Craftsmen rely on experience and their sense of hearing rather than measuring devices to fine-tune the sound of each drum, with different instruments requiring distinct tones.
Officials said the craft had preserved the cultural and musical traditions of southern Vietnam while providing livelihoods for generations of local residents.
