On the morning of June 22, a representative of the Ha Tinh Province Police Department said a serious road accident had occurred on the North-South Expressway, on the Ham Nghi-Vung Ang section passing through the province.
A passenger coach collided with a lorry which was carrying several large steel frames at about 8 pm on June 21.

The impact crushed the front of the coach, leaving it wedged into the steel frames at the rear of the lorry.
Ha Tinh Province Police deployed specialised vehicles and numerous officers to the scene to carry out rescue operations.
The crash left eight passengers on the coach injured, while the coach driver was confirmed dead from severe injuries. Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.
