Speaking to Dantri/Dtinews on the afternoon of June 18, Do Thu Nga, chairwoman of the People's Committee of Da Phuc Commune in Hanoi, said three construction workers had been carrying out work on a septic tank for a local household earlier that morning.
According to preliminary information, all three workers entered the tank and were subsequently exposed to toxic gas.

"The incident left two men dead and one injured. The injured worker was taken to hospital for emergency treatment. After receiving reports of the incident, local authorities coordinated with relevant agencies to secure the scene and investigate the cause. Police are continuing their investigation," Nga said.
Witnesses reported that the workers had entered the septic tank to remove formwork when they were overcome by gas.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
