According to Quang Tri Provincial Police, the suspects were apprehended at about 7.50 pm on June 3 following a surveillance and pursuit operation in Khe Sanh Commune.
The two suspects, identified only as Chiu, 16, and Tia, 17, are both Lao nationals.
Officers seized two transparent plastic packages concealed by the suspects. A subsequent inspection revealed 12,000 methamphetamine pills hidden inside.
During questioning, the pair allegedly admitted transporting the drugs from Laos into Vietnam for delivery to a customer near a coffee shop in the area.
Authorities are continuing to expand the investigation to identify other individuals involved in the trafficking operation.
The case remains under investigation.
