The Halong Bay–Yen Tu World Heritage Site Management Board said the beach, which forms part of the VHL2 sightseeing route, remains closed pending the resolution of legal issues linked to a conservation project on Soi Sim Island.
The project, developed by Soi Sim One Member Co., Ltd., was halted in 2020 to complete procedures related to land, forest and marine area allocation under Vietnamese law.

The management board said it was working with relevant agencies to review outstanding issues and submit recommendations to provincial authorities aimed at reopening the beach to visitors.
The move comes days after Soi Sim was named the only Vietnamese beach included in the 2026 edition of the Corona Beach 100, an annual global guide recognising 100 outstanding beaches across 22 countries.
Located in the core zone of the Halong Bay World Heritage Site, Soi Sim was selected for its unspoilt natural setting, biodiversity and environmental conservation standards.
Covering about 7.8 hectares, the beach is known for its clear waters, white sand, native forest ecosystem and hillsides covered with purple myrtle flowers during summer.
Tour operators, boat owners and tour guides have been asked to inform visitors of the temporary closure and direct them to alternative destinations along the VHL2 route.
