The Tay Ninh Border Guard Command said on June 11 that officers had completed legal procedures and transferred two suspects and related evidence to provincial police for further investigation into alleged drug trafficking offences.
According to authorities, at about 9.10 am on June 5, officers at the Long An Border Guard Observation Post in Long Thuan Commune caught Le Quan Truong, born in 1999 and a resident of Ben Cau Commune, while he was riding a motorbike and illegally entering Vietnam from Cambodia.

During a search, officers discovered a nylon bag containing approximately 1kg of white crystalline substance concealed inside the helmet Truong was wearing. They also found five additional nylon bags containing a total of 499 tablets hidden on his person.
Preliminary testing indicated that both the crystalline substance and the tablets were synthetic drugs.
During questioning, Truong allegedly admitted that he had been hired by an unidentified man to transport the drugs from Cambodia into Vietnam in exchange for VND 4 million (approximately USD 154).
Expanding the investigation, authorities arrested Cao Anh Tai, born in 1999 and a resident of Long Thuan Commune, who was identified as being directly involved in the trafficking operation.
