Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City has been nominated for Asia's Leading Airport 2026, joining some of the region's most recognised aviation hubs.

The World Travel Awards (WTA) has announced the nominees for the Asia's Leading Airport 2026 category, with 11 airports shortlisted for the prestigious title.
Among the nominees are several airports that consistently rank among the world's best, including Singapore Changi Airport, Hong Kong International Airport, Incheon International Airport, Narita International Airport and Suvarnabhumi Airport.
Vietnam's Tan Son Nhat International Airport is also among the nominees, competing alongside some of Asia's leading aviation centres.
Its inclusion on the WTA shortlist highlights the airport's growing importance within the regional aviation network. The award is considered highly competitive as airports worldwide continue to invest heavily in technology and service improvements.
Over the past decade, the title of Asia's leading airport has frequently alternated between Changi Airport and Hong Kong International Airport. Both facilities have gained international recognition through major investments in biometric passenger processing systems and multi-billion-dollar entertainment and retail complexes.
Tan Son Nhat Airport has also been working to enhance passenger experience through infrastructure and service upgrades. Voting for the WTA Asia 2026 awards is currently open on the organiser's official website, with winners set to be announced at the regional awards ceremony later this year.
Vietnam's aviation industry has also received positive recognition in the airport services sector.
SH Premium Lounge at Tan Son Nhat Airport has been shortlisted for the Asia's Leading Domestic Airport Lounge category in this year's WTA awards.

Located in Terminal T3, the business-class lounge was designed to international standards while incorporating elements of Vietnamese hospitality.
Tan Son Nhat Airport was previously included in Skytrax's top 10 airports worldwide in its passenger-capacity category in 2018, 2019 and 2022.
In 2015, Skytrax also named the airport among the world's most improved airports. According to the organisation, its evaluation process is conducted independently and is not influenced by airport operators.
Founded in 1993, the World Travel Awards is an international tourism awards programme that recognises leading travel brands and destinations around the world.
Thanks to its reputation and global influence, the WTA is often referred to by industry professionals as the "Oscars of the travel industry".
