All 12 visitors suffer from chronic kidney disease and receive regular dialysis treatment at medical facilities in Taiwan.
To ensure their treatment schedules were not disrupted while travelling in Vietnam, the group contacted Danang C Hospital before departure to arrange medical support during their visit.
Upon receiving the request, the hospital’s management directed relevant departments to develop a treatment plan and prepare for the patients’ arrival.
Medical teams reviewed patient records, coordinated with healthcare providers in Taiwan and ensured adequate staffing, equipment, medicines and medical supplies were available.
According to hospital representatives, treating 12 overseas dialysis patients simultaneously required close coordination among multiple specialised departments.
During their stay in Danang, each patient underwent medical examinations and health assessments before every dialysis session, while healthcare staff closely monitored vital indicators throughout the treatment process.
Thanks to extensive preparation and effective cooperation between departments, all 12 patients completed their dialysis sessions safely, remained in stable condition and were able to continue their travel itinerary as planned.
A representative of Danang C Hospital said this was the first time the hospital had provided dialysis services for such a large group of international tourists.
The initiative is also regarded as one of the first examples of medical tourism delivered by a public hospital in Danang.
Hospital officials said the successful treatment programme demonstrates the potential to combine high-quality healthcare services with tourism development, an area that is receiving increasing attention from governments and destinations around the world.
The experience is expected to create new opportunities for Danang to attract international visitors who require ongoing medical care while travelling.
