The group, comprising Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and VASCO, said it would operate 28,300 domestic flights between now and August 16, up 5 per cent in flight numbers and 3 per cent in seat capacity from a year earlier.

Additional capacity will be focused on routes linking Hanoi and HCM City with major tourist destinations, including Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Da Lat, Hue and Quy Nhon.
The airline group said discounted fares account for around 40 per cent of seats offered on many domestic routes, while early-morning and late-evening flights will continue to provide lower-cost travel options.
Vietnam Airlines is also running a series of online promotions, including weekly discounts through its mobile app and website.
The carrier said it had prepared additional aircraft, personnel and airport resources ahead of the summer peak, while increasing the use of technology to support operations and maintain service quality.
On international routes, Vietnam Airlines plans to launch services to Phuket and Amsterdam and increase Hanoi-Moscow flights to four a week from July 1.
