Authorities in Da Huoai 2 Commune are working with relevant agencies to assess the damage and consider support measures for affected growers.

According to local officials, the storm struck hamlets 1 and 2 on Thursday afternoon and lasted for more than an hour, causing extensive damage to durian orchards.
Preliminary assessments showed that about 50 tonnes of durian fruit were blown from trees, while dozens of fruit-bearing trees were uprooted or snapped by strong winds.

The commune's People's Committee said around 30 durian-growing households were affected, including six that suffered severe losses.
Nguyen Hung Cuong, vice chairman of the Da Huoai 2 People's Committee, said local authorities had coordinated with village officials to assess the damage, help residents recover and advise farmers on measures to minimise the impact of future extreme weather events.
