The national carrier said the move follows upgrades to its technology systems and age-verification procedures, allowing eligible passengers to access discounted fares without visiting ticket offices.

The discount applies to economy-class tickets on domestic flights operated by Vietnam Airlines, subject to certain conditions.
Passengers can access the offer by selecting the Senior Citizen (60 years and above) category when searching for flights on the airline's website. The system will automatically display eligible discounted fares.
Nguyen Quang Trung, deputy chief executive of Vietnam Airlines, said the expansion was part of the airline's efforts to improve accessibility and personalise services for different customer groups.
Vietnam Airlines currently offers a range of promotions on domestic routes, including early-booking discounts, weekday promotions, app-based offers and group travel discounts.
According to official statistics, Vietnam had nearly 17 million people aged 60 and above in 2025, accounting for about 17 per cent of the population.
The airline said the number of senior passengers on domestic flights rose more than 23 per cent in 2025, aided by dedicated support services.
