E10 biofuel prices fall sharply in latest fuel price cut

Vietnam has cut retail fuel prices across the board, with E10 biofuel recording a drop of more than VND 1,300 per litre.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance announced new fuel prices on June 4, with the adjustments taking effect from 3 pm the same day.

Under the latest review, the retail price of E5 RON 92 petrol was reduced by VND 1,470 per litre to VND 21,780 per litre.

Diesel prices fell by VND 790 per litre to VND 26,860 per litre, while mazut declined by VND 800 per kilo to VND 19,640 per kilo.

According to petroleum distributors, the retail price of E10 RON 95 petrol dropped by VND 1,330 per litre to VND 22,330 per litre from 3 pm on June 4. E10 RON 95-V was also reduced to VND 23,230 per litre.

Vietnam officially began nationwide distribution of E10 biofuel on June 1 as part of efforts to expand the use of cleaner energy sources.

At the same time, E5 RON 92 petrol will continue to be produced and supplied until the end of 2030 under Circular No. 50/2025.

Industry data showed that consumption of E10 biofuel remained broadly in line with demand for conventional petrol following the nationwide transition.

Total biofuel consumption across the country reached approximately 29,000 cubic metres per day during the first day of implementation, according to petroleum businesses.
