On June 4, People's Hospital 115 in Ho Chi Minh City announced that its doctors had successfully carried out organ procurement and transplantation procedures in coordination with the University Medical Centre Ho Chi Minh City and Hue Central Hospital.
The donor, a 32-year-old man, was admitted to hospital on the morning of June 2 after suffering a massive cerebral haemorrhage. Doctors determined that his condition was beyond treatment and he was later declared brain dead.
His family subsequently expressed a wish to donate his organs and tissues to help other patients in need.

On the same night, surgeons at People's Hospital 115 successfully transplanted the donor's kidneys into two patients with end-stage kidney failure.
Meanwhile, a surgical team from the University Medical Centre Ho Chi Minh City successfully transplanted the donor's heart into a child suffering from end-stage dilated cardiomyopathy.
Hospital officials said all transplant recipients are currently in stable condition and continue to receive intensive monitoring and treatment.
The operation marks the fourth successful organ donation and transplantation procedure from a brain-dead donor performed at People's Hospital 115.
