According to An Hai Ward Police, the suspect allegedly stole an iPhone 16 Pro and an iPhone 15 Pro Max, worth a combined VND 75 million (USD 2,850), from a tourist from Kazakhstan in the early hours of June 1.

The victim had left the phones concealed under clothing on the beach while swimming. About 15 minutes later, he returned and discovered the devices were missing.
Following an investigation, police identified the suspect and recovered the stolen phones later the same day.
During a search at around 6.30 pm, officers found the suspect in possession of the stolen items along with other property suspected to be linked to criminal activity.
Police said the suspect admitted taking advantage of beachgoers and tourists who left valuables unattended while swimming.
Further investigation found that he had allegedly carried out seven other thefts, including incidents at My Khe Beach and several healthcare facilities.
Items seized by police included multiple mobile phones, VND 36 million in cash and a gold-coloured ring, with the total value of recovered property estimated at hundreds of millions of dong.
