According to the municipal Department of Construction, motorcycles, bicycles and pedestrians will be allowed to travel in both directions from midnight on May 28 along the repaired lanes designated for non-motorised vehicles and pedestrians.

The department said contractors had completed urgent repair works on both sides of the bridge following nearly two months of construction.
Authorities have instructed the project investor and contractors to remove all temporary traffic diversion signs installed during the repair period and restore the bridge’s original traffic signage system.
Transport inspectors have also been tasked with monitoring traffic safety and traffic organisation after the reopening, while reporting any problems arising during operations.
Traffic on Long Bien Bridge had been restricted in both directions since March 28 to facilitate emergency maintenance works.
