HCM City-Con Dao high-speed ferry service to resume in June

The high-speed ferry route between Ho Chi Minh City and Con Dao Island will resume operations in June after being suspended for more than six months due to rough sea conditions.

The operator said the service would use a new triple-hull aluminium vessel with capacity for 527 passengers and a cruising speed of 30 nautical miles per hour.

The ferry will operate between Nha Rong-Khanh Hoi Port in Ho Chi Minh City and Ben Dam Port in Con Dao.

Services are expected to run once daily on weekdays and twice daily during weekends and holidays.

Economy-class tickets will cost VND 965,000 (USD 38) on weekdays and VND 1.05 million on weekends, while sleeper tickets will be priced slightly higher.

The route was first launched in March 2025 before operations were suspended in late August because of adverse weather conditions.

Con Dao is currently connected to Ho Chi Minh City mainly by air services and ferry routes from Vung Tau and Tran De Port in Can Tho.
