The attack took place on the evening of May 21 in Ben Thanh Ward, when suspects allegedly opened fire on a group of foreign nationals, killing one person and injuring another.

After carrying out the shooting, the suspects fled the scene, prompting a joint manhunt involving Ho Chi Minh City Police, the Ministry of Public Security and other specialised units.

On May 22, police in Trang Bang Ward, Tay Ninh Province, issued an urgent notice seeking two foreign nationals suspected of involvement in the case.

Initial investigations found that after the attack, the suspects took a taxi towards Tay Ninh Province. Authorities later determined that they got out near the Co.opmart Trang Bang supermarket area in Trang Bang Ward.

Investigators are continuing to verify details of the case and carry out further legal proceedings.
