Heavy rain and whirlwinds struck multiple communes and wards shortly after 2 pm, causing roofs to collapse and walls to be torn apart.

Authorities in Gia Rai Ward said initial reports showed 34 homes had suffered roof and structural damage, most belonging to poor and near poor households.
Local officials said damage assessments were still under way.
In Phong Thanh Commune, at least 15 homes were affected, including four completely unroofed houses, one house with severe front section damage and 10 others suffering lighter impacts.
Meanwhile, Lang Tron Ward recorded 38 collapsed or partially unroofed homes, while 18 houses were reported damaged in Vinh Phuoc Commune.
Many trees and electricity poles were also toppled, affecting local residents’ daily activities.

Following the storm, local authorities mobilised emergency teams to clear debris, move belongings and reinforce damaged homes to help residents stabilise their living conditions.
Officials are continuing to survey affected households and assess losses for possible financial support under government regulations.
