More than 3 tonnes of spoiled pig intestines found at Bac Ninh facility

Authorities in Bac Ninh Province have discovered more than three tonnes of pig intestines and dried pig intestines showing signs of spoilage and lacking clear origin documents at a local facility.

The inspection was carried out on May 21 by Bac Ninh police and an inter-agency animal disease prevention team at a facility in Tan An Ward.

Officials said they found about 3,000 kilogrammes of pig intestines and 250 kilogrammes of dried pig intestines with signs of mould and foul odours, failing food safety and veterinary hygiene standards.

The owner was unable to provide invoices or documents proving the origin of the products.

Authorities determined the facility had violated regulations on trading food products of unknown origin. The entire batch, valued at more than VND 29 million (USD 1,100), was ordered destroyed.

Police said inspections would continue at slaughterhouses, food processing facilities, cold storage warehouses and collective kitchens as part of broader food safety enforcement efforts.
