The affected roads include Quang Trung, Quan Su, Ly Thuong Kiet, Phan Chu Trinh and nearby intersections in the city centre.
According to Hanoi’s Department of Construction, the works are aimed at upgrading drainage systems to reduce flooding in the Phan Boi Chau-Ly Thuong Kiet area and parts of the Old Quarter.

Construction units will install both fixed and mobile barriers at multiple intersections, with some sections fenced off in stages during overnight hours from 8 pm to 5 am.
At key junctions such as Quang Trung-Tran Nhan Tong and Quang Trung-Trang Thi, authorities will impose temporary traffic restrictions and adjust turning directions to ease congestion during construction.
Several road sections will also operate under revised one-way traffic arrangements.
The projects include new drainage pipelines along Ly Thai To, Phan Chu Trinh and Le Lai streets.
Authorities said traffic would be diverted from a distance around Ly Thuong Kiet Street and nearby areas to minimise congestion.
Some construction works at major intersections are expected to continue around the clock during the project period.
