Local officials in De Gi Commune said the contractor was finalising design plans for the road connecting the remote mountain site with the provincial road network.
At present, visitors must hike through forest trails and steep hills for about 2.5 to 3 hours to reach the tower.

Under the approved investment plan, the new road will stretch more than 6 km with a 6.5-metre-wide concrete surface designed for mountainous terrain. Parking areas and passing bays will also be built along the route.
Authorities said the project would improve tourism access to the site while ensuring safer travel conditions.

The VND 125 billion (USD 4.8 million) project is expected to be completed in 2027.
Hon Chuong Tower stands at an altitude of nearly 800 metres above sea level in the Ba mountain range and is regarded as the highest-positioned Cham Tower in Vietnam.
The structure, believed to date from the 11th to 13th centuries, rises about seven metres high on top of a large rock formation.
Researchers have yet to determine the tower’s original purpose, with theories ranging from a religious site to a military observation tower or an ancient lighthouse for ships approaching the coast.
