Tam Dao is one of northern Vietnam’s best known mountain tourism and resort destinations, located around 75km north of Hanoi. The area is popular for its cool climate and scenic mountain landscapes.

National Highway 2B is currently the only route leading to the Tam Dao tourist area. The mountain road features steep slopes, numerous sharp bends and limited visibility, while thick fog and wet surfaces frequently make driving conditions slippery and dangerous.
