Quang Tan Commune in eastern Quang Ninh has been among the areas hardest hit by widespread rain since May 16, with flooding damaging crops, roads and aquaculture facilities.
Several fish farms were inundated, including a sturgeon farm in Siec Long Min Hamlet where floodwaters swept away seven commercial fish tanks containing around 11,000 fish.

The total loss was estimated at about 27.5 tonnes of sturgeon worth roughly VND 10 billion (USD 390,000).
Local authorities, mass organisations and residents helped transport surviving fish out of isolated areas and launched a community campaign to support sales and reduce losses for affected farmers.

The campaign to help sell sturgeon drew support from local residents and traders on May 18-19, helping affected farmers reduce losses caused by the floods.
Authorities said emergency teams remained on duty around the clock as heavy rain was expected to continue, with personnel deployed to monitor flooded crossings and clear landslide debris from roads.
